Hello and Welcome

So I thought I would start off with a little introduction post as to who I am and what this blog is all about.

My name is Holly, I’m 21 and I am a student of journalism in the UK. I have had blogs in the past that tend to gravitate around my personal life and the sort of funny / tragic events that happen to me which tend to get some laughs because, I am so clumsy I’m almost disabled and if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.

This blog is focused around what I enjoy in life which tends to be fashion, make up and interior decor. I’ve been getting more and more into make up in the past year or so. I’ve been taking tips from blogs on YouTube and my peers because I enjoy experimenting. I find doing my makeup therapeutic and it gives me a lot more confidence. I'm not someone that feels the need to wear make up every day mostly because I'm quite lazy and if I can have another 10 minutes in bed then I will! But if I'm going out I do like to have a full face of make up on because it makes me feel comfortable, especially if I know someone is going to be taking pictures or if I'm going to be meeting a lot of people at a big event.

I'm always up for trying new things, whether that be food, beauty products, make up, styles of clothing or footwear I wouldn't normally pick for myself. So I tend to keep an open mind, but I'm not always the first person to jump on a trend bandwagon.

An example of a flatlay I've created from items in my wardrobe.I post these on my instagram account regularly, stating where I purchased the items.
I would describe my sense of style as casual streetwear with a dainty twist. I tend to wear a lot of brands such as HUF, Brixton, and Dickies. I live in jeans on most days as I find it easy to dress them up or down, and I have a mad love for shoes. My trainer collection is always growing and it's hard to find places to store them, so at least once a year I have to have a major clear out.

My makeup styling tends to be sleek brows with a red lip and eyeliner flicks. I just think this is something that is classic, simple and chic, that can be worn at any event, day or night. I do like to experiment with unusual colours and bright eyeshadows, but this isn't my regular day to day face wear.

My hair has been every colour under the sun as I tend to get bored easily so change it often. For the past 10 months I've managed to keep it to my natural brown to reduce damage from dying it all the time. Although having said that, I am feeling like a bit of a change soon.

This blog will be a mixture of outfit posts, product reviews, tips and tricks on how to achieve certain make up and clothing looks at minimal cost.

I have a deep love for eBay and Depop. As a student I don't have a bottomless pit at my disposal when it comes to money, so over the years I’ve fallen in love with the charity shops and second-hand clothing stores.

Whenever I'm home I'm always rifling through my parent’s wardrobes despite my mother’s protests. On many occasion I've gone out for the day wearing a shirt or jumper of my fathers with a belt and received many compliments much to my father’s amusement. High waisted everything is the safest way to describe my style preferences.

I'm always open to constructive criticism, as I know there's always room for improvement and if for any reason you would like to contact me I have displayed my contact email and my Instagram page details on the blog.

So welcome to my catwalk, I hope you enjoy the show.
