Chanel Le Teint Ultra Tenue Foundation

First things first, if you have oily or acne prone skin, this foundation is the one for you.

I tried this product this week before a nine hour shift at work and it absolutely amazed me.
When I got home at the end of the day my foundation was still flawless. I'd had it on for 14 hours and it looked almost as if I had just applied it.

Usually I have to blot at several points throughout the day to stop my make up becoming oily and literally sliding off of my face but this product stayed all day without the need to make any adjustments.

At £37 for a 30ml bottle, this product is hardly cheap, but it is without a doubt worth every penny and is available in 16 shades.

As you may know, my favourite foundation up until this point had been Estee Lauder Doublewear, but Chanel's Le Teint Ultra Tenue has certainly given it some serious competition.

The only thing I could fault with this product was that because it is so build able and gives amazing coverage, it can appear cakey if you're not careful. Especially if you apply powder products over the top. I found this to be the case when I applied both a loose translucent and a porcelain pressed powder to set the foundation as well as a powder bronzer for contour and a powder highlight!

I found it made my skin appear a bit dry, but this was soon remedied by a few sprays of MAC fix plus to hydrate my face. I now know to use powder sparingly next time I wear this foundation (I usually cake powders over the top of my foundation to keep the oil at bay but this product clearly doesn't require that extra help).

Understandably due to price this may not be a foundation for everyday use for some of us, but if you feel like a little treat or an excuse to splash out a little, this is definitely a product I think is worth investing in.

As the nature of the product is quite thick, it may not be ideal for those of you that suffer with dry skin. However if you'd like to try it for yourself, you can pop along to your nearest Chanel beauty counter (Debenhams / House of Fraser / John Lewis) and you'll be able to try it for yourself. They'll even give you a sample of your colour to take home and try for yourself.

Unfortunately I didn't think to take photos to showcase this wonderful product but I'll be sure to upload some to my Instagram soon.

I'd love to know how this product suits different skin types so feel free to get in contact using the details at the top of the page or the comments box below.

Stuck for Valentines Gift Ideas?

...then I've got just the thing to help!

Loved ones can be particularly difficult to buy for on all number of occasions, year round, but I recently discovered the perfect thing to help!

Faver is a social media shopping website that makes gift choosing a breeze. The website itself functions similarly to that of Pinterest, but when you click on the images of the items you're interested in purchasing, it takes you to the direct website to make your purchase!

You set yourself up a profile quickly and easily - I used my Facebook profile to log in. From there you choose a selection of items you find of interest, and from there the website regularly refreshes your feed to keep bringing you items it knows you'll love based on your previous history!

The four main areas of Faver include Faves, Suggestions, Friends Feed and Lists. The Faves section has already made my life that much easier. The only thing I can fault so far is that the more I explore the app and fave items I love, the more amazing suggestions it shows me, which makes me fave more and the cycle continues....

The website itself is easy to use, clear cut and simple. I prefer this because I personally find nothing worse than a busy, cluttered and over filled web page that distracts me when I'm looking for certain things or when I'm in a hurry.

When you connect with your friends on Faver you can see their suggested faves too, which is perfect if you have similar interests as them, but even more ideal when you want to have a little snoop for ideas of what they may want for their next birthday...

The website has already come in handy for Valentines Day next week and my eldest brothers birthday the week after!

So hit me up if you want to link on Faver guys!

Fab Little Bag

Ladies, this is a post for you...

For those of you that don't know, Fab Little Bag are a UK based company selling women's sanitary products.

I discovered the brand last year when I received a pack in one of my monthly Pink Parcel subscription boxes.

Founded in 2015, Fab Little Bags have quickly become a necessity in every woman's handbag. Fab Little Bag are a discreet product for you to dispose of used tampons and sanitary products wherever you may be.

The bags open with the use of one hand and the tops press closed with a seal just in case you're somewhere they can't be disposed of. Over Christmas I donated packs to my local homeless shelter along with packs of pads and tampons, because no woman should ever have to go without!

The bags are small, discreet, and fit in even the smallest of clutch bags - so are ideal for a night out.

Packs start from £2.99 for 20 and are available to buy from the Fab Little Bag website, and are also stocked by: Waitrose (online and in store), Ocado, Amazon, Ethical Superstore (online) and Whole Foods (in store)!

Did You Know?

  • Fab Little Bags are made from 35% organic material, and are oxo-biodegradable.
  • An estimated 1.5-2 billion sanitary items are flushed down Britain's toilets each year.
  • The average woman spends nearly ten years of her life menstruating.

So ladies, when it's next your time of the month, don't ovary-act! Fab Little Bag have got your back! (and uterus!)

What's in my Make Up Bag?

Hey everyone!

Apologies for being AWOL for a while, I've had a lot going on and just wasn't feeling the motivation to blog in my little free time.

To kick start myself into creating content again I thought I would do an updated version of whats in my make up bag. This was quite an easy decision as quite a few products I used to use regularly have changed so I wanted to share some of my amazing new discoveries with you guys.

Of course if you have any questions or comments, your feedback is always welcomed at the bottom of the page in the comments section. I hope you enjoy reading and find something right for you!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion - £17

Although this product is a little pricey, the quality is unrivalled. Eye shadow primer is an absolute must if you want crease-less, vibrant, long lasting eye shadow.

Urban Decay Brow Box - £22

I've been using this particular product for over a year now and its still my firm favourite. A little goes a long way and the box includes a mirror, miniature brushes and tweezers, so this is an ideal handbag sized product perfect for on the go.

Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel - £20

I've been using this product for a couple of months and have been very impressed with the outcome. I have naturally sparse eyebrows so find a brow mascara is ideal for the days when I'm in a hurry and don't want to go the trouble of filling my eyebrows in with powder. I also like to use it over the top of powder products just to make some of the individual hairs stand out when I'm wearing  full face of make up.

Outdoor Girl Mascara - £4.49

I literally only picked this product up because I was in a store and I hadn't spent enough to pay by card but I hadn't got any cash with me. Turns out the product is amazing. The formula is very build-able and the huge brush makes my lashes look like falsies after just a couple of coats.

PS... Waterproof Eyeliner Pen - £1.50

This product is absolutely amazing.I picked one up in Primark and after one use was converted. I've tried many an expensive eyeliner over the years and this is by far the best. It rivals those of Eyeko and Stila who were my previous favourites. I still can't believe how affordable it is!

This product is still my favourite face primer. It helps to cover visible pores and mattifies skin, leaving it ready to apply your foundation over smoothly, and helps keep it in place all day. A little goes a long way so for £7.99 it's a bargain.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation - £31

If there was ever a time to splurge a little on an item of make up for your kit, it would be now. This product has amazing full coverage, a large selection of shades to choose from and feels light on your skin. 10/10 would recommend to all.

MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder - £21

This product is lightweight and perfect for setting make up without being heavy enough to stick to or highlight any problem areas such as dry skin. Definitely worth the money.

Urban Decay Flushed - £25

This has a trio perfect for contouring. The colours in this pallette are highly pigmented so not best suited to the pale amongst us.

Urban Decay Afterglow 8 HR Highlighter - £21

As we all know, I LOVE a good highlight. The more glitter and sparkles and shimmer the better as far as I am concerned. I have this highlighter in the shade 'Sin' which is a lovely pale peach shade. If you're looking for a highlighter so bright it could cut a bitch, this is the one for you guys.

MAC Strobe Cream - £24.50

This is essentially a liquid highlighter for those of you who are a bit clueless. I found this product was a bit too subtle for my preferred drag queenesque make up style, so I use this as a pre highlighter highlighter! I find it amazing as a base for powder highlighter as it makes the pigment stick firmly to my skin and amplifies it so much. However this would be perfect for those amongst us who would just like to use it for strobing by itself... Also available in five shades, if you're not sure which shade is best suited for yourself just ask one of the MAC artists in store!

MAC Prep + Prime Fix + - £17.50

It took me so long to get my hands on this product and now I can completely understand why. Whenever I went in store or online it was always sold out! This is by far the best setting spray I've discovered so far and it's no wonder everyone raves over how great it is. The staying power of my make up after a few sprays of this is amazing. The longest I've tested it for personally is 18 hours with my make up looking almost untouched (and that was after being in a sweaty rave for 12 hours!)

I've decided to leave my preferred eye shadow palletes out of this list as I intend to cover them in a separate post soon. I've quite a few favourites I'd love to share with you guys so keep your eyes peeled for those soon.

As always I'd love to hear your thoughts, whether you agree or disagree! And I certainly am open to hearing if any of you have found any products you think I'd find better than any of the ones I am currently in love with!

Until next time,

-Holly xx
